The project aims to reduce GHG emissions, increase the capacity per vehicle, improve operational efficiency, and enhance service levels.

Objective

i) Replacing the fleet of public utility diesel vehicles (buses and jeepneys) by converting these to higher capacity electric vehicles and providing charging stations,

ii) Consolidating the currently loosely linked transport industry players; and

iii) Rationalizing the different intra-provincial routes and merging these where it fits

Our Approach

Province transportation landscape

Studied existing transportation in Bataan. Studied Use Cases, Characteristics, and Routes of Buses and Jeepneys Studied Energy Landscape of Bataan.

Regulatory Framework

Mapped out the stakeholders concerned with transportation planning. Studied relevant policies and programs Suggested Policy recommendations based on the review of institutional composition, policies, and stakeholder interviews conducted.

E-bus technical feasibility

Conducted Route Assessment (Duty Cycle) and Energy Consumption Modeling, SOC assessment (battery sizing) Estimated Operational model and Service requirements Developed Charging Strategy and Infrastructure Planning Suggested Recommendations

E-Jeepney technical feasibility

Conducted Route Assessment (Duty Cycle) and Energy Consumption Modeling, SOC assessment (battery sizing) Estimated Operational model and Service requirements Developed Charging Strategy and Infrastructure Planning Suggested Recommendations

Impact Assessment

Conducted Financial Analysis Developed Investment Strategy Conducted Environment Impact Assessment

Outcome

  • Recommended Specifications in EV and Charging System and Business Models. Conducted TCO analysis and financial performance for different scenarios.
