Objective

The client, under its EV100 commitment, aims to electrify 100% of its last-mile delivery fleet by 2030 and achieve net-zero operations by 2040. To support this goal, a detailed EV baseline assessment and root cause analysis were conducted across its fleet to identify challenges and opportunities in first/last-mile and mid-mile logistics.

Our Approach

Baseline Assessment

Collected and analysed the client's country-level and zonal-level operations data across vehicle segments, business categories, cities, hub types, and delivery models to understand the variation in EV adoption across the operational landscape

Market Research

Shortlisted representative sites using Excel analysis of a mix of operational data to conduct on-field visits and gather insights on operational challenges (internal and external) related to vehicles, vendors, manpower, and more. Assessed current EV adoption and deployment success to identify potential areas for improvement from site visits.

In-Depth Analysis & Matrix Mapping

Developed a matrix mapping the observed challenges across business categories, linking them to their CO2 impact and prioritizing areas for intervention, supported by detailed assessments validated through primary and secondary data collection.

Technical Evaluation

Performed business-wise technical specification evaluation for EV models to identify the most suitable vehicles for each business use case, aiming to improve fleet productivity and reliability. Performed business-wise charging infrastructure requirement assessment to support EV adoption. Performed business-wise ownership economics analysis between EV vendors and Flipkart to explore probable business model solutions to reduce EV ownership costs.

Readiness Assessment

Performed business-wise ecosystem readiness assessment to address issues related to vehicle and driver availability. Provided business-specific diagnostics of challenges through root-cause analysis activity with a high-level intervention roadmap, offering actionable solutions for accelerating EV adoption
