This report aims to explore and identify specific use cases and applications for BESS,  particularly to support the RE and EV transition, in the two cities and applicable to other Indian cities.

Objective

The client wanted to conduct a feasibility analysis to highlight and understand the potential opportunities for stationary battery energy storage to support the sustainable energy, electric mobility and net-zero transition at the city level

Our Approach

Secondary Research

Conducted secondary research on the current status of the BESS deployment in India. Based on these sources, suggest the possible use cases of EVs and RE integration with BESS at the city level

Use-Case Framework

Develop the comprehensive technical data template for identified BESS use cases including parameters related to EV and RE integration. This technical data template shall validate with stakeholder consultations, their needs, and impact at the city level including opportunities, barriers, readiness, etc.

Pre-feasibility Analysis

Pre-feasibility level technical analysis has been undertaken for the shortlisted BESS use cases. The intent of this analysis was to evaluate preliminary feasibility and compare total costs of ownership (TCO) for the baseline (without BESS) against TCO with the implementation of BESS in each FtM and BtM use-case

Report Submission

Prepared a percipient report which enables Accelerate the scale-up deployment of BESS Build business models for policymakers, stakeholders, and investors in the power market value chain Enable greater and faster commercialization Deliver significant strategic successes that will resonate globally
